Suicide prevention course

Suicide prevention has been on the maritime agenda the past couple of years. Being socially isolated, lonely or depressed are only some of the things that seafarers sometimes struggle with and that in some cases lead to suicidal thoughts. A suicide on board is difficult for everyone and everything possible should be done to prevent this. To a very large extent suicides are preventable, but many are reluctant to address colleagues that are not thriving. In this course you will get more knowledge and hands on exercises on what to look out for and how to talk to a colleague about suicidal thoughts and how to get support.
